We were tasked with helping the founder of a very successful digital marketing agency, to help take his business to the next level. After many years of hard work, it was time for Hursh (the founder) to move away from 60-70 hour weeks and step back to allow the 2Ic to help manage the team, as well as co-assist in scaling the business to it’s full potential, in the overseas market. Key skills were knowedlge of SEO, Web Development, Social Media Campaigns, as well as some previous experience with people management and sales.
This hire was critical to the success of the business, with the ability to manage, develop & guide the team, as well as support customer success and resolve any client complaints, without having to constantly escalate to the founder.
Using our advanced boolean string, we only identified 39 Digital Marketing Managers, who had experience in agencies, with some people experience, combind with SEO/SEM/Web technical skills. This was a small market on the West Coast, so we had to make sure every candidate was accounted for. Our AI report found our Boolean Search to be of high quality, with only 6 of the identified prospects in the search of quesitonable suitability.
Given the small number of potential prospects, we had to ensure each outrach message counted. To assist with this, we partnered with Hursh the founder to create a VSL, in order to help pitch the role in our sourcing outreach. The VSL talked about the culture, growth opportunities and global vision of the agency, as well as key responsibilities. We were able to share the youtube video in our Cold Emails, InMails, as well as any replies to our Invites or SMS. Only 2 prospects were unable to communicated with, due to privacy restrictions on their LinkedIn and inability to scrape their emails or phone numbers.
It’s extremley rare to get greater than 1/3rd positive response rate in an outreach campaign, particularly when competing with employers who had hybrid working arrangements and competitive salaries. However, this went to show the power of VSLs & bringing your job description to life over video. Overall, Hursh was quite selective and opted for only 2 interviews, both being extremley suitable for the offer. I still remember the weekend of deliberation, before a decision was finally made, and we offered a rising star from a competiting agency.
